Laura Linney's portrayal as vulnerable and yet powerful characters has earned her the title of one of the most popular American actors. While spending her summers in the home of her father her interest grew for the stage. While in Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Her Broadway career soon after completing her degree after which she made her television debut the following year. Since then she has been involved in numerous films, television productions and stage shows. Through her entire career, she's won numerous awards. These includes 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Her nominations include five Tony Awards, and three Oscar Award nominations. But, in spite of her awards and accolades, the stage is where she's at and she will continue to act on both screen and stage.
